This week we are continuing on with our visitor restrictions, and monitoring closely all who enter the building. As you are probably aware, Alaska has had its first confirmed case of the COVID-19 virus. Over here at Aspen Creek, we are continuing to take measures to try to keep our residents protected.This morning our team met and discussed the most recent updates and recommendations from the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Guidance for Long-Term, Assisted Living and Residential Facilities. ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Now that there is officially a case of COVID-19 confirmed in Alaska facilities that take care of the elderly are rolling out plans to keep their residents safe.
The CDC has warned that senior citizens with pre-existing respiratory issues are the most at-risk people to the virus.
Assisted living homes have their own guidelines and protocols for addressing disease threats like this one. At Aspen Creek in Midtown, staff said they are trying to stay ahead of coronavirus as much as possible.
